APPLE CHUTNEY
Ingredients:
- Apple - 500 gm
- Oil - 1 Tablespoon
- Cinnamon – 1 gm
- Star Anise - 2 pieces
- Minced ginger - 1½ Tablespoon
- Chili Flakes - ¼th Teaspoon
- Powdered Fennel - 1 Teaspoon
- Roasted Cumin powder - 1 Teaspoon
- Brown Sugar - 1 Tablespoon
- Pepper Powder - ¼th Teaspoon
- Apple Cider Vinegar - ½ Cup
Method :
- Step 1: Clean the apples under running tap water. Then, peel the outer skin of the apples.
- Step 2: After peeling, chop the apples finely with the help of a chopper.
- Step 3: Take a pan, and allow it to heat, pour oil into it. When it becomes hot, add the spices clove, star anise, and cinnamon.
- Step 4: When the ingredients begin to sizzle, add ginger and fry for a minute.
- Step 5: Add red chilli flakes under a low flame, then add chopped apple, sugar, cumin powder, fennel powder, pepper powder and vinegar.
- Step 6: Cook until the apple turns tender and the liquid evaporates.
- Step 7: Take a small portion of the mixture and mash it with the help of a spatula to give it a thick texture.
- Step 8: Allow the apple chutney to cool and store it in a sterilized glass jar.
APPLE MILK SHAKE
Ingredients:
- Apple – 1 piece
- Chilled Milk - 1 Cup
- Sugar - 1-2 Teaspoon
- Cashew Nut - 10 pieces
- Cinnamon Powder - 2 Pinch
- Ice Cube - 2
- Vanilla Extract - 1/4th Teaspoon
Method :
- Step 1: Rinse the apple well, remove the peel and chop it before adding it to the blender.
- Step 2: When it is blended properly, add milk, sugar, ice cube, cinnamon, and nuts.
- Step 3: Blend it well until it becomes very smooth.
- Step 4: Pour the apple milkshake into a serving glass. Sprinkle powdered cinnamon over it.
APPLE JAM
Ingredients:
- Apple – 450gm
- Sugar – ¾ Cup
- Apple vinegar – 3 Tablespoon
- Water – 3 Tablespoon
- Cinnamon – 1 piece
- Star anise – 1 piece
Method:
- Step 1: Clean apples in tap running water, peel the outer skin and grate it with the help of a grater.
- Step 2: Take a heavy-bottom saucepan and add grated apple into it. Then, pour apple cider vinegar.
- Step 3: Add one piece of star anise and one piece of cinnamon.
- Step 4: Pour 3 tablespoons of water to avoid burning.
- Step 5: Then cover the pan, cook it on low heat for a minute and open the lid after that.
- Step 6: When the apple becomes soft, add sugar and mix it well.
- Step 7: Then cook on medium heat, until the jam starts boiling.
- Step 8: When bubbles start to emerge, it indicates that the jam is ready.
- Step 9: Finally add vanilla extract to the mix.
- Step 10: To check the final stage of apple jam, add a little water to a plate and drop a spoonful of jam on the plate, the jam should not spread and must retain its shape.
- Step 11: Allow the jam to cool and store it in a sterilized glass jar.
- Step 12: If it needs to be stored at room temperature, preservatives can be added.
- Step 13: To enhance taste of the jam, juice of lemon can be added.
